High-Density Barcodes

High-density barcodes can improve mail processing and delivery. The US Postal Service has a 31-digit Intelligent Mail® barcode system that can store more information than a traditional barcode using less surface area, which frees up space for messages or images on an envelope.
One day, high-density barcodes could allow a recipient to manage all of their incoming and outgoing communications, whether it’s physical or electronic, through a single online portal. Another possible use of high-density barcodes involves at-home barcode readers to transfer information from the print world to the electronic world.
